What has been made:
Nada 😁 or just taken before photos
Next steps:
Small wash to remove any greas stains
Read upon reference photos and plan each part
An oil wash has been made on the interior (non-red chassi), to dampen the shine and make it more weathered and less new feel. As it is oil paint, it will take some days before it is dry to touch, then it will be wiped down. The curing process is longer, so a seal/varnish will be added later on (hopefully a week or so)
Next steps:
remove excessive oil wash
Start weathering the worn parts of the red chassi
First try-out of weathering:
Started with a pretty heavy weatherining on a small part of Sentinel. After discussion with client, we both agreed to tone it done couple of notches and to keep the fine red of the fire truck (as he is when transformed.
Here is the next test where we both liked the results.
It is painted as scratched and worn on edges and corners, very subtle.
Typically, in scale modeling the weathering is more like the above (still not that much), where it is more worn due to weather and environment.
Next:
Add this scratched and worn painting to the whole chassi.
